Here are some books you might find interesting. They include nutrition, conventional medicine, homeopathic manuals, and children's First Aid. The New Optimum Nutrition Bible [Patrick Holford, Piatkus 2005] Excellent overview of modern nutrition wisdom, much of it engendered by Patrick himself through his vast research on the subject. Plus detailed nutritional approaches to various illnesses. The Optimum Nutrition Cookbook [Piatkus 2003] How to get all that wisdom into a cooking pot. Simple, cheap, delicious. BMA Family Guide to Medicines [Dorling Kindersley, 2004] Helps you identify what the doctor gives you, and gives some idea of the action of the drug. Only marginally useful, if you don't have medical training, in helping you talk through the drug action and side effects with your doctor. Merck Manual [Merck, 2005] A comprehensive layperson's guide to illness, from a conventional medicine point of view. Very useful. The Complete Homeopathy Handbook [Miranda Castro, Macmillan, 1996] Still one of the best home guides to homeopathy. Homeopathy for Mother and Baby [Miranda Castro, Macmillan, 1997] Again, one of the best of its kind. The Healthy Child through Homeopathy [Tricia Allen, Metro Books, 2004] This one will help for the toddler to teenager timeframe. First Aid for Children Fast [Dorling Kindersley, 1999] Emergency procedures for parents and carers The Practical Handbook of Homeopathy [Colin Griffith, Watkins, 2006] Another excellent home guide to homeopathy |
